Burns Park – Ann Arbor Real Estate

Burns Park, Ann Arbor Information

Burns Park remains one of Ann Arbor’s most desirable neighborhoods and boasts gorgeous artisan homes, many with the original woodwork and tall ceilings.  The Northeast part of Burns Park includes Ives Woods, which has one of the highest median incomes in the city. With a fantastic location close to The University of Michigan campus, Burns Park is close to just about everything in the Downtown Ann Arbor area.  Named after Professor George Burns who was the Ann Arbor Commissioner, at one time Burns Park included the trolley barns at the park. In 1925, the barns burned down and Tappan Junior High was built, later becoming Burns Park Elementary school. Walk to the acclaimed Ann Arbor Art Fair every July, Downtown Ann Arbor, local schools and the famous University of Michigan Football Stadium.  Ann Arbor Public Schools include:  Burns Park Elementary School, Tappan Middle School, and while most students attend Pioneer High School some also attend Huron High School.

Ann Arbor Real Estate – The Ann Arbor Green Fair is a Big Hit!

Ann Arbor Green Fair

Ann Arbor Green Fair Downtown Ann Arbor

The ninth annual Ann Arbor Green Fair drew an enthusiastic crowd of ecologically minded people to the Downtown area last Friday on June 12th. Over 100 exhibits were available with environmental information which included everything from clean energy, green construction, hands-on youth activities and face painting along with the some of the Prudential Snyder & Company EcoBrokers!

EcoBroker Laura Shope was thrilled with the Green Fair Event: “This has been the largest turn out in terms of the fair and vendor participation in the past 4 years. People were more aware and knew specifically what they wanted to know more about.”  Listen to Laura Shope talking about the EcoBroker Certfication on WEMU.

David Wallner, also a Prudential Snyder & Company EcoBroker enjoyed educating the public on the benefits of working with an EcoBroker and also left the Green Fair with a lasting impression of Eco-Friendly living. “After attending the 2009 Ann Arbor Green Fair, I made the decision to order an energy audit on my house. This is a great start for conserving energy.”

The fair was broken down to four related events:

The Environmental Leaders Area: more than 50 environmental nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and participating businesses that have earned the “Waste Knot” partner designations from Washtenaw County.
